GROUP: Lost & Found Property @ Gatwick Airport

This is probably a long shot, but my husband and I travelled to Rome from Gatwick last Tuesday morning.
We went through security around 5 am, and when he put his items in the tray, he also took off his bracelet, which is black and titanium (see photo).
When he took the items out of the tray, he completely missed the bracelet, as he never usually takes it off, and it was only when we were on the plane that he realised it was missing.
We contacted Gatwick straight away, who said to wait between 3-7 days, then to email back if we haven’t heard anything.
We emailed again yesterday and were told that there wasn’t anything they could do as 72 hours had passed.
Not sure if anyone can help in any way or know of anyone else we can contact?
It was a gift from his dad, who sadly passed away, so extremely sentimental.
